Peppo was a Dr. Pepper knockoff, that was made by Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola Company released Peppo, a "Pepper Type Soda", after their last failed Dr. Pepper knockoff from the 1960s. Peppo was sold in cans and glass bottles, the soda retained medium status. Whilst most people would go for Dr. Pepper, Peppo was still an okay substitute in most peoples minds. The soda was preserved with Benzoate, but sadly, Peppo's formula was altered, and the soda was renamed Mr. PiBB. Peppo was discontinued in 1972, when it was replaced.
